Acacia is a term that refers to more than 1,200 species of trees and shrubs native to Australia and Africa. These species grow in a variety of habitats, including rainforests, forests, and coastal sand dunes. The staining acacia wood used in hardwood flooring falls into two categories: small-leaved acacia and large-leaved acacia.

 

Acacia floor options:

 

Solid Acacia flooring:

This is 3/4″ (19 mm) thick, and the Plank widths range from 3” to 5”. Standard and hand-scraped acacia flooring is produced from hardwood.

 

Engineered Acacia flooring:

This is available in 3/8″ (10 mm) and 1/2″ (12 mm) thicknesses, with plank widths ranging from 3″ to 5″. Standard and hand-scraped acacia wood is made. Engineered acacia wood has an engineered plywood base and a solid acacia wood wear layer.

 

Acacia Laminate Flooring:

It is decorated with acacia wood in photography that is fused to the wood base and covered with a clear layer for wear protection. It is available in thicknesses from 1/4” (7 mm) to 9/16” (15 mm) and various plank lengths.

 

There are many colors in all acacia flooring products. The warranty is only five years for cheap acacia laminate to 50 years for hardwood floors.
